The Manchester Congestion Charge
 The Socialist City of Manchester wants to introduce congestion charging to the city. The model will be similar to the scheme Red Ken Livingstone introduced in London (but covering a much larger area). There will be a public vote - a referendum - that closes on December the 11th. This is where Manchester people get their one and only opportunity to stop this crazy proposed highway robbery.
In typical government fashion, we only have a very short time to get our votes in to object to this lunacy, and the government and council spin doctors are currently infecting all our media with their socialist propaganda in the hope they can brainwash you into voting yes.
A postal referendum that closes on 11th of December, will give everyone in Greater Manchester the opportunity to vote on current Congestion Charge proposals. Postal ballot papers will be issued in November, look out for your paper and remember to post your "No" vote early.
We pay road tax already. We pay a huge fuel duty on every litre of petrol or diesel we buy already. We pay 5% tax on our motor insurance policies already. We pay VAT on parts and servicing for our cars already. We pay to park in many places already. Some residents (like in parts of Oldham) must even pay to park outside their own houses already! Everywhere we look there are traffic wardens (parking Nazi's) looking to slap a ticket on your car. And this is not enough for them? The greedy buggers want yet more of our cash? Why should motorists always be the soft target for the government, the councils and the police? Time to say "No More!"
The government and councils are absolutely raking money in from motorists already. These guys are laughing their socks off as they dream up yet another new scheme to rape the pocket of the hapless motorist, while giving themselves huge pay rises at our expense. They are sniggering up their sleeves at the prospect of a "yes" vote to this congestion charge lunacy. We would be voting yes to being ripped off some more!
This time they claim to want £3bn to fund public transport. The GMPTA is the front man for this latest wheeze. This site says: Waste less money funding a life of leisure for illegal immigrants, putting speed humps everywhere, translating every piece of paper you create into seventeen different languages, funding thousands of "outreach workers", "ethnic diversity officers" and other nonsensical government created jobs that most normal people don't want, use or need, and you would soon have your £3bn.
Who wants all this improved public transport anyway? We car drivers certainly don't; we don't use public transport by choice. We are quite happy driving our cars thanks! We have no intention of sitting on a bus next to some bloke with foul smelling armpits, with chewing gum stuck to our trousers. It is not the place of some bunch of left-wing lunatics and "greens" in their cardigans with patches on the elbows and bits of twig sticking out of their beards to tell us otherwise! We drive our cars so we don't have to sit on a poxy bus and listen to some weird beard droning on in eco-babble. (We prefer to listen Key 103 or Radio 2 in the comfort of our cars.) We pay through the nose already to drive so we can avoid the riff raff on the buses. Why should we fund it? Want to pay for more public transport? Put the ticket prices up - let the users pay.
Please use your vote wisely, and don't let the highway robbers take even more of your money. They will be taking the food from your family's table and from the mouths of your children. Your "NO" vote is needed. Why should one group of people (drivers) subsidise the travel of another group of people? (Public transport users.)
